Into the Mountains: Stories of New England's Most Celebrated Peaks |
Author: Maggie Stier, Ron McAdow (Contributor)
This book is a great read and covers the history, geology, and conservation of 15 of
New England's peaks. I find many books on history put me to sleep but this is
written in an engaging fashion and provides lots of
interesting information. It's fascinating to learn
that many of our peaks used to be far more developed than they are today. It was
enjoyable to learn about the mountains I've already hiked and the reading has
inspired me to check out the mountains that I haven't yet explored.
The book is well researched and has me itching for a series that will cover
in detail even more mountains. |
